We are introducing Opening Worlds, a knowledge-rich curriculum for History and Geography that helps children build understanding in a clear, structured and meaningful way. Learning is carefully sequenced so that knowledge builds year on year.

As part of a slow and careful roll-out, children in Years 3, 4 and 5 will all begin with the Year 3 Opening Worlds curriculum. This ensures that all pupils develop the same strong foundations of knowledge, allowing learning to be consistent and securely built upon over time.

During this three-year roll-out, not all children will be studying content labelled for their year group. However, the curriculum your child receives will continue to meet and exceed National Curriculum requirements, offering a broad, ambitious and age-appropriate education.

We are confident this approach will support long-term learning and success for all pupils.
