All children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM), and due to the Mayor of London continuing an extension of Free School Meals to all primary pupils, all children from Year 3 to Year 6 are also entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) up to the end of the academic year in July 2025. Even though all pupils are now offered a free school meal, we encourage all parents of KS2 children (from Year 3 to Year 6) to check their eligibility for Free School Meals (FSM), as the school receives crucial government funding for each eligible child.
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.
Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:
If you do not qualify for most benefits (also known as having ‘no recourse to public funds’), your child may still be eligible for free school meals. Ask their school or local authority whether they’re eligible.
Check your eligibility for FSM by entering your details online at www.fsm.lgfl.net The online application process links to the DfE eligibility checking service and gives an immediate ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response. If you receive a ‘yes’ please email us at admin@bushhillpark.enfield.sch.uk requesting a FSM application form.
Parents may provide their children with a packed lunch from home if they prefer. We are a nut free school, so please check any foods sent in for your child that the ingredients do not contain nuts in any way. We also ask parents not to send their children in with unhealthy food items like fizzy drinks, chocolate or sweets in packed lunches.
As we are a Healthy Eating school, we expect pupils to eat a range of foods. We encourage pupils to do this if they choose school meals and we expect pupils to bring packed lunches from home that reflect healthy eating too. See our menu below, please note that it is subject to changes.
