Year 5 school trip to The British Museum
1 March 2018 (by F Singh (fsingh2.308))
On Friday the 23rd of February 2018, Year 5 went on a school trip to The British Museum to investigate our IPC topic, "The Great, The Bold and The Brave," which is based upon Ancient Greece.
When we arrived at the museum we had tablets which contained a learning activity. We used the APP to find different monuments. We learnt that the city in Greece called Athens was named after the Greek God Athena.
The activities were: mazes, puzzles, animated historical fights and matching statues. Once we had completed each part of the challenge, we read information which helped us learn even more. Our classes then went into two further exhibition rooms and we were given worksheets to fill out about the exhibits. Some of the topics that were on our sheets were: Combat sports, Theatre, Farming, War, Shipbuilding and Woodworking and Children. Overall, all of us loved the trip and it was very informative. Hopefully we can go on more of these kinds of trips in the future! By Rochelle and Katie (Amethyst Year 5)
